Currently, there are over 1.3 billion people in the world  and approximately 600 million people living in Africa that do not have access to electricity. Lack of electricity affects multiple aspects of life, including health, education and income. On average, families are spending at least $228.60 annually on an energy source that is temporary and often times detrimental to the health of its users.
